How every screen is built

Every dashboard screen follows the same rules. Knowing them makes any screen readable.

  • Ruled sections. A hairline opens each zone. The heading names what the zone is a record of.
  • Facts in two columns. Label on the left, value on the right. Machine identifiers (pi_…, con_…, hashes) are set in a monospace face because they are quoted, not written.
  • Status pills. Fully round, colour-coded: green for a settled good state (ACTIVE, CAPTURED, PUBLISHED), blue for in progress (PROCESSING, DRAFT, PENDING_APPROVAL), amber for waiting or impaired (HELD, DEGRADED, OUTCOME_UNKNOWN), red for terminal failure (FAILED, REVOKED, DENIED). Full list.
  • Empty states say why. "No connections yet. Paste a provider test credential above…" tells you what would fill the space.
  • Read back, never echoed. A list under a form is re-read from the API after you submit. If it is there, it was stored.
  • Buttons that can refuse tell you first. A guarded button carries a sentence under it saying what it needs (a fresh second factor, a second approver, a permission). When the API refuses, the refusal's own guidance and reason codes are shown verbatim, with a request id you can quote.

The inline second-factor prompt

Any button guarded by step-up may be replaced by a small form headed Confirm it is you. Enter the six digits from your authenticator app and press Verify and …. The retry runs under a new idempotency key, so nothing is double-submitted. The window quoted in the sentence ("within the last 5 minutes") comes from the server's refusal, not from the screen.

Keyboard and screen readers

There is a Skip to content link at the top of every page. Controls that are not yet available stay in the tab order and report aria-disabled with their explanation, instead of vanishing. Motion is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion. The theme follows your system setting; there is no toggle.
